Those sports persons who wish to participate in SPAT 2012 may register their self online from department’s official website http://www.play4india.com.
First Round: The first round of SPAT 2012 will be organized in schools only. Which scheduled to between 8 to 17 November, 2011.
Second Round: The Second round of SPAT 2012 will be organized on state level. Only those players will be eligible for second round who qualify the first round.
Abut SPAT: Sports & Physical Aptitude Test is a battery of 7 tests - vertical jump, standing broad jump, forward bend & reach, ball throw, 6x10 meter shuttle run, 30 meter flying race & 800 meter race. Each test carries 3 marks. Scoring is age and gender sensitive. SPAT score provides an objective basis for assessing one's level of fitness and suitability for a game.
30 lakhs students are likley to participate. We aim to step up the level of participation progressively and universalize SPAT in 8-19 years age-group by 2012. It would enable them to have an idea of their level of fitness and athletic potential and plan a career in sports.

SPAT 2011
The first edition of the SPAT has attracted over 80,000 young boys and girls. We plan to host SPAT, 2011 in from 3-9 Dec.2010r. Schools shall be conducting Round I of SPATlite [30 m Flying Race, 6X10 m Shuttle Run and Standing Broad Jump] for their wards and aspirants from their locality on their own. Those scoring 75%+ will qualify for Round II, to be organized by Sports Department from 15 Jan, 2011. Top 5000 will be eligible for scholarships, subject to conditions.
